the lovely yarn bowl

I haven’t done any knitting for more than a few months. But isn’t this lovely?

Your ball of yarn goes in there and the bowl holds it neatly while you knit or crochet. You can get them here. And here’s one with yarn in it looking quite a lot like a sweet bowl of sorbet.

Getting Outside

I recently read that overall, Americans spend 90% of their time indoors. This scares me. And as much as I love trees, plants, the ocean, jumping around like a nut, etc…I think this is true of my life, too!

So, I’m thinking up ways to get out more - especially now that spring is on the way!

One of my more elaborate ideas related to this topic is:

A Field Day for Adults

I’ll come up with a more fun name later. :)

But my idea is a totally free day where adults are invited to a local park. They’ll bring balls, frisbees, etc. There’s a local juggling group that I’m sure will come. There are tables where people can play checkers, chess, or anything else that doesn’t easily blow away. Acoustic instruments will be welcome. We’ll have a few organized events (water balloon catching games…and others I’ll think up later), but mostly it’ll be very open.

I’m getting excited about organizing this idea and seeing how it goes!

I’d love to hear any ideas on this from you creative folks!

Red Machine

Red Machine. It sounds like it means something. But really it’s just the juice I am drinking. It’s stuffed full of all sorts of red fruits.

Hi.

I haven’t been around for a while…but that hasn’t stopped people from visiting my blog. Thank you!

I’d love to start posting here regularly again. It’s kind of like I’ve forgotten what I used to post about! I think it’s just a product of brain overload. I’ve been burning a lot of brain power lately.

Soon, I hope to post here about:

  • papier mache robots and monsters
  • drums and other rhythm instruments
  • spring
  • and other good things…
