Simply Delightful Reminder

img

Don’t forget to submit a post to the simply delightful! carnival by next Tuesday! I have quite a few submissions and I’d love to have more. Just pick a recent post (or write a new one) about something that’s tickling your fancy right now.

Did you just read a fantastic book?

Maybe you just finished a beautiful painting or baked delicious cookies or took pictures of old trees.

Or do you have an inspirational story to share?

Really - the possibilities are endless. If you’re excited about it, share it. Thanks!

Actias luna

I saw a luna moth yesterday - the first I’d ever seen in person.

They’re unusual to see, because they mostly go out at night and only have an adult life span of about one week.

One Foot May Now Be Bootied

I just finished knitting this little baby bootie. It turned out pretty nicely! Now…to make another.

This from from Debbie Bliss’ “Snowflake Bootee” pattern, but it looks a bit different because the color is different and it doesn’t have a snowflake on it.

I wanted to put leaf pattern on it, but wasn’t quite brave enough. Maybe next time!

In case you didn’t hear about the twin koalas born at a safari park in China, now you’ve seen them in all their fuzzy glory.

3 Recycled Links

Patricia shows us one way to make art out of junk mail. Very nice.

A macadamia orchard and wetland restoration project site in Australia is converting old Macintosh computers into birdhouses. Read more and see the results here.

And finally, a ship made out of a bottle. A glass-blower recycles some bottles and makes some boats. Check it out.

Let’s hear it for…

…the Wandering Albatross! This is a bird with a really huge wingspan. They spend most of their time in flight, even while snoozing.

dorodango

Dorodango are incredibly amazing balls of mud. If you have never heard of them before, visit here to learn more. You simply will not believe it when you see these beautiful objects.

Then, go read Anjali’s wonderful account of learning to make them.

I want to try this ASAP!
